Decorative wallcovering made of cotton linters and clays and obtained through a cold craft process. Linters are the short downy hairs or fuzz adhering to the cotton seeds. After removal from the seeds, the linters receive a second, more energetic ginning to produce very pure cellulose fibres, mostly used for paper, wadding, wicks, felt and viscose yarns.
The decorative tile Pleiadi is ecological and sustainable, giving a new life and new use to what is generally considered a by-product of the cotton industry. Available in ‘nature’ colour, a natural finish obtained in a low-tech process by mixing earth without artificial dyes or mordant.
Each tile measures 19,5x19,5 cm and can be placed both horizontally and vertically to create different compositions and graphic effects. As this is a handcrafted and manually made product, the dimensions may vary slightly. The cellulose composition of Pleiadi guarantees high sound absorption performance against extremely low thicknesses.
